According to an article over at GateWorld, there's a new Stargate series in the works, called "Stargate Universe."

Transformers

My buddy Sam sent me a link to the new TRANSFORMERS movie trailer. And it's kinda cool. But I must admit, more than cool, I found the trailer confusing. Why? Well, it's a Michael Bay film. And how do I put this ... eloquently.... ?.. Michael Bay's movies suck! They suck A LOT. And yet, there's a line in there that say, "Executive Producer - Steven Spielberg".

Steven Spielberg!? One of the greatest movie directors of all time, in association with Michael Bay!? That makes NO sense whatsoever. Like water and oil - these guys don't mix!

So it should be interesting to say the least.

Potentially Interesting this Week

First up, the Star Wars Gangsta rap video. It's an old file, but apparently people have been taking the audio and mixing up the visuals. Here's one with video from the movies, one with Family Guy, and the Special Animated version.

OhGizmo! has images of the new R2-D2 mailboxes that will becoming to a street-corner near you to help celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars. Most likely, stamps are also in the works. The website shown on the mailboxes, uspsjedimaster.com, is not yet active.

300 opened this weekend. MAN I can't wait to see that movie. Here's an NES short someone made. And here's the R-rated trailer for the film. It's drawing sell-out crowds, and getting great reviews! It made $27.7 million yesterday, and is on track to pull down at least $60million this weekend. If you're interested in learning more about this historic event, from an historical perspective, be sure to watch The Last Stand of the 300 on the history channel today, 2pm PST. Check local listings, it was on Thursday night, and I'm sure will be on again. Warner Brothers has also released new action figures based on the movie. Cool. Also, here's a short clip from the movie - great fight - slaughter scene.

The Heroes spoof, Zeroes, which has been making its rounds on YouTube, was actually produced by NBC. How's THAT for creative marketing? Here's the article at TV Squad.

Eddie Furlong, of Terminator 2 fame, ain't looking so hot these days. Then again, neither is Eddie Van Halen.

Darth Who?

Dang-it - I JUST missed the deadline for this competition. Star Wars.com had a competition in which regular humans like you and me could name the next Darth character. But it just closed on February 27.
That would have been a fun competition to enter and then not win. But let's go ahead and think of some names anyway. Kelly told me about this competition, seeing a little discussion about it on PlanetSocks. And over there, they had some great ideas - Darth John Wayne, Darth Garth, Darth Snakes-on-a-MFing-Plane, among many others.

Here's what we've got so far: Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Darth Tyrannus, Darth Sidious. We've also got General Grievous. So the name needs to keep in that kind of theme. Let's see...
